Incapacity package coverage from Warta

The add-on package covers three risks related to loss of working capacity or independence:

  • Permanent inability to work as a result of an accident - one-time benefit PLN 100,000. Payment is made when the accident causes permanent changes in health that prevent the performance of any work for at least 12 months. Required certificate from an authorized entity or medical board. No grace period.
  • Temporary inability to work – PLN 100 per working day Incapacity, starting from the 31st calendar day until the 180th day. Applies to both illness and accident. Incapacity must last continuously for at least 30 days and be certified by sick leave. A grace period of 6 months. (illness), none (accident).
  • Inability to live independently - one-time benefit PLN 50,000. Payment when the insured loses the ability to independently perform at least 3 of the 5 activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, moving). Grace period of 6 months. (illness), none (accident).

The premium for the entire additional package is PLN 31 per month. The package is available for people aged 18-60, with protection until age 60.

The contract is concluded for 1 year with automatic renewal. At conclusion, a simplified health verification applies - based on questions about health status, without medical examinations.

The most common exclusions of liability

Below are typical examples of exclusions of liability. For a complete list, please refer to the T&Cs provided to you prior to entering into the contract.

  • Self-harm or attempted suicide by the insured.
  • Warfare, martial law, active participation in riots, disturbances or acts of terror.
  • Nuclear, chemical or biological contamination.
  • Driving without the required licenses or under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
  • Engaging in high-risk sports: scuba diving, climbing, skydiving, combat sports, racing and others as specified in the T&Cs.
  • Treatment or medical procedures performed outside the control of physicians.
  • Committing or attempting to commit a crime with willful misconduct.

This is an additional package under Warta For You and Family insurance, which provides financial support in case of loss of working capacity or independence. It covers three risks: permanent inability to work after an accident (PLN 100,000), temporary inability to work (PLN 100/day) and inability to live independently (PLN 50,000).

The premium for the „Incapacity” add-on package is PLN 31 per month. It is added to the premium for the selected base variant (e.g. „For You - Life” from PLN 42/month).

The benefit is PLN 100 for each working day of incapacity, starting on the 31st calendar day and ending on the 180th day. The condition is an uninterrupted incapacity of at least 30 days, certified by sick leaves issued due to the same illness or accident. The benefit is not payable if the insured retains the right to 100% salary or sickness benefit.

The grace period is 6 months for events caused by illness. Events caused by an accident are covered from day one, with no grace period. Warta also counts insurance seniority from a previous life insurance contract.

The package is available to individuals aged 18-60 (uncompleted), with coverage until the next policy anniversary after age 60. An active base variant of Warta For You and Family insurance is required.

Inability to work means the permanent inability to perform any work for at least 12 months. Inability to live independently is a more severe condition - the loss of the ability to independently perform at least 3 of the 5 basic activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, moving around).
